A safer Floor Graphic Media

March 16th, 2020

Many event planners and retailers are finding indoor floor graphics attract attention and have a worthwhile return on investment.

One of their concerns when planning an event or product program is what will happen to the surface when the floor graphic is removed. Will there be adhesive residue? Will the floor graphic pull off the poly coat on a wood floor or leave a stain on a sensitive surface like sealed concrete or marble/ terrazzo?

If you want to prevent these scenarios, you will have to educate the client that floor graphics are a temporary advertising medium. To meet slip rating standards , most floor graphics are textured. This texture will pick up dirt and scuff marks that will degrade the graphic. Most floor graphics are replaced within 1-2 months. The longer the graphic is on the floor surface, the greater chance removal will leave residue or cause damage to the surface.

For temporary floor graphic applications up to a month, Quality’s DuraVinyl 187 is the ideal product. This textured white printable vinyl will adhere well to coated wood, sealed concrete, tile or marble/terrazzo surfaces. It typically removes cleanly within a month and will not damage the floor surface or leave a stain. What makes DuraVinyl 187 unique is it’s “micro dot” adhesive. The micro dot adhesive adheres well to these smooth surfaces and is repositionable. As it is removed, the dots “break” and stay with the vinyl rather than on the floor surface.

Another advantage of this “micro dot” adhesive technology is that application is bubble free and can be accomplished on site by amateurs at events such as weddings and bar mitzvahs.
