Problem- Silvering (tiny bubbles in laminate) across the whole print
- Possible cause -not enough main roll pressure
- Solution- raise main roll pressure
- Possible cause- rollers cold
- Solution- raise temperature on top roll (95- 115 degrees) will expand roller silicone
- Possible cause – print media not smooth/ uv ink giving the media some texture
- Solution- go with a smoother print media , use latex or eco solvent printer
Problem- Silvering on one side of print
- Possible cause- main nip pressure not even
- Solutions- have nip pressure recalibrated by technician
- Possible cause- if laminating thicker plastics , they often are not flat across the top surface. Edges fall off and this will cause silvering on the edge.
Problem- bubbles across the roller show up every few inches
- Possible cause- top roller has flat spot
- Solution- run with hot temperature while turning with bottom roller to smooth it.
- Replace top roller
