Problem- Silvering (tiny bubbles in laminate) across the whole print

  • Possible cause -not enough main roll pressure
    • Solution- raise main roll pressure
  • Possible cause- rollers cold
    • Solution- raise temperature on top roll (95- 115 degrees) will expand roller silicone
  • Possible cause – print media not smooth/ uv ink giving the media some texture
    • Solution- go with a smoother print media , use latex or eco solvent printer

Problem- Silvering on one side of print

  • Possible cause- main nip pressure not even
    • Solutions- have nip pressure recalibrated by technician
  • Possible cause- if laminating thicker plastics , they often are not flat across the top surface. Edges fall off and this will cause silvering on the edge.

Problem- bubbles across the roller show up every few inches

  • Possible cause- top roller has flat spot
    • Solution- run with hot temperature while turning with bottom roller to smooth it.
    • Replace top roller
